As a UW employee, you have an opportunity to participate in one of the UW’s valuable retirement programs. Look to the following webpages to :

• Determine your retirement program - Here you will find all of the benefits associated with your retirement savings plan and enrollment information.
• Discuss investment or retirement options with one of UW Retirement and Voluntary Investment Program sponsors
• Prepare for retirement - Learn about the steps you need to take when preparing for retirement, register for a retirement preparation workshop, and find how to continue insurance coverage after retirement.
• Return to work as a retiree -  Understand the rule requirements for returning to work at the UW after retirement.

As with any goal, retirement from work at the University of Washington requires preparation. Make sure you are planning for secure retirement by taking full advantage of your UW investment and retirement savings programs.

• View your current retirement plan contribution at any time by logging in to Employee Self-Service(ESS).
• Supplement your retirement plan with the UW’s Voluntary Investment Program and/or US Savings Bonds options.
• During your UW career, stay informed about your retirement plan. Events and seminars from Benefits & Work/Life include frequent opportunities to meet with fund sponsor representatives at UW locations (as well as their local offices).
